Associate Mechanical R&D Engineer

About the Role We are looking for a collaborative Mechanical Engineer  to join our team. In this role, you will work on diverse product development projects—ranging from [mention sectors, e.g., medical devices to consumer electronics]—taking ideas from initial concept through to prototyping and manufacturing. Onsite & hybrid: 3 days onsite 2 days offsite

You won’t just be a cog in a machine here; you will be a key part of our “work family,” solving complex technical problems while mentoring and learning from your peers. Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Innovation: Create 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical components and assemblies using  SolidWorks, taking products from concept to production.
  • Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with the Vantage team and our clients to identify requirements and develop elegant engineering solutions.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Build and test prototypes (functional and cosmetic) to validate designs, analyzing data to iterate and improve performance.
  • Documentation: Create clear technical documentation, including assembly instructions, test reports, and BOMs.
  • Vendor Management: Communicate with machine shops and vendors to source parts and manage fabrication lead times.
  • Team Support: Participate in design reviews, share technical knowledge with the team, and contribute to our collective growth and “shared wins.”

Required Qualifications

  • Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • Experience: [2–5] years of experience in product development or mechanical design.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in SolidWorks  (part modeling, surfacing, assembly, and drawings).
  • Soft Skills: A team-oriented mindset. You are someone who enjoys helping others, communicates openly, and fits into a relaxed but professional environment.
  • Versatility: Ability to switch between different types of projects and adapt to new challenges.

Desired Qualifications (Bonus)

  • Experience with Medical Device design controls (ISO 13485) or Consumer Product design.
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing processes (Injection Molding, CNC Machining, Sheet Metal, 3D Printing).
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
